Director of Research, Portfolio Manager
As Director of Research, David is responsible for combining internal and external research to improve decision-making for the firm’s investment strategies. In this role, David functions as a data translator – identifying the market narrative based on trends in data.
As a Portfolio Manager, David is responsible for co-managing the firm’s various investment strategies, which include a variety of tactical and strategic offerings. He is also heavily involved in the investment strategy development process in addition to monitoring the strength of the firm’s overall investment platform.
Before joining QA, David was a Portfolio Manager for a Minneapolis-based wealth management firm, where he served on their investment committee and compliance review board. David holds dual B.B.A. degrees in Financial Markets and Organizational Management from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
In his free time, David is an active volunteer, serving on the boards of a variety of organizations, including: CFA Society of Minnesota, CAIA Minnesota, and Minnesota Financial Empowerment Initiative (MNFEI). When not volunteering, David can be found at the gym playing pickup basketball or out on the soccer field when the Minnesota weather cooperates. David and his wife Rachel enjoy cooking and experiencing the world’s endless wonder through travel.
